Bringing a West end show to an East End bar, Georgia & the Vintage Youth will be performing every Thursday night at The Lighthouse, Shoreditch.

Georgia recently caught the attention of Pixie Lott at Whitechapel’s Oliver Conquest, who now endorses her music as “refreshingly different”.

She has been writing songs and playing the piano from the age of 10 and with her band The Vintage Youth now delivers a brand of music that smashes through the traditional genre barriers by mixing jazz with reggae, ska, ragtime and pop.

Georgia’s clever compositions blend influences from Louis Prima, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, and more recent legends like Amy Winehouse, Paulo Nutini and Paloma Faith. With her musical theatre background, Georgia is at one with the stage.

It has been a prolific year since the release of Georgia’s first EP “The Girl” and she has been busy connecting and working with industry names such as Dave Swift, long standing bassist for the Jools Holland R&B Orchestra; Mo Pleasure, musical director and bassist of the legendary Earth Wind & Fire and most recently Neville Staple of the Specials, who has featured on her latest EP “El Reco,” due for release in mid September.

Next to writing and recording, Georgia’s passion for performance had led her around the London scene, gigging at The Troubadour in Earl’s Court, The Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell, The Underbelly in Hoxton House, and even on a bus!

It is true enough that this girl is on the move, but you can catch her weekly at The Lighthouse.
