LONDON SYMPHONY is a brand new city symphony which combines music and moving images to offer a poetic journey through London. Directed by Alex Barrett and featuring an original accompanying composition by James McWilliam, it was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film at Edinburgh International Film Festival. It is an artistic snapshot of the city as it stands today, and a celebration of its rich diversity of culture, architecture and religion. It is a meditative and blissful film that celebrates a vibrant and visually stunning city.

In this very special presentation, McWilliam's composition will be performed live by the Covent Garden Sinfonia, conducted by Ben Palmer, and followed by a discussion featuring the filmmakers and Geetha Maheshwaran, co-ordinator of the Shree Ghanapathy Temple.

Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be served prior to the performance, and traditional snacks will be available for purchase during the interval.

Please note: visitors will be asked to respect the customs of the temple, and shoes must be removed upon entering the building. Please also be aware that the majority of seating for this event will be on the floor, with limited chair seating available for the elderly and infirm. Please contact us on [email protected] should you have any questions or concerns regarding this.

This event is supported using public funding from Arts Council England.
