JOIN award-winning Doctor Foster star Suranne Jones and other celebrities at a cancer charity’s Afternoon Tea at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Holborn on Sunday, October 8.

The UK’s leading holistic cancer charity Penny Brohn UK’s event, in the enchanting Edinburgh Suite, includes a glass of fizz, succulent sandwiches, cakes, scones and copious cups of tea.

Suranne said: “I’ve seen first-hand how Penny Brohn’s unique approach can change attitudes towards living with cancer, and helps people and their families through challenging times.

“The charity is wonderful and we hope this tea and future events raise much-needed funds to help the team continue their amazing work.”

Charity co-founder Penny Brohn’s daughter Jess Brohn leads the fundraiser, which also includes an auction and balloon tombola from 2pm-5pm.

Organiser, Penny Brohn UK special events manager Sarah Crooks added: “This is a superb chance to support us in stunning, relaxing surroundings with celeb supporters including our patron Suranne and film, TV and stage star Lucy Briers, daughter of the late, great Richard Briers.

“Auction lots include a wonderful week in the French Alps, luxury overnight stay in London and exclusive bridge lesson from the world bridge champion.

“Places are limited, so book fast to avoid disappointment.

“Every penny raised will help us continue to reach people and families, before, during and after treatment.”

Penny Brohn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1979.

She co-founded the charity with friend Pat Pilkington after realising there was nothing available to help her ‘whole person’ – mind, body, spirit and emotions – during medical treatment.

Penny Brohn UK understands that cancer impacts everything and the number affected is increasing.

With over 36 years’ experience, Penny Brohn is the only UK charity specialising in a whole person approach to cancer.

Its Bristol Whole Life Approach supports people and close supporters to participate in their health and wellbeing, and find the resources to thrive, before, during and after treatment.

It explores areas such as diet, exercise, relationships and managing stress, through free courses, one-to-one therapies, groups, a Treatment Support Clinic and national helpline.
