Presenting a programme of both popular contemporary music and world premiere pieces, Planet Tree Music Festival offers listeners a new experience for the enjoyment of classical music in North London. Championing an alternate way of listening, audiences are actively encouraged to lie down and experience the sound worlds in a new way. The stuffy, outdated rules found in traditional concert halls are truly thrown out the window, instead a more accessible experience is offered as a stepping stone to musical enjoyment. The festival’s founder, Lawrence Ball, believes there is a high link between the music that he has programmed and the levels of meditation to be experienced by listening to it. The ninth festival presents an array of world premieres, performed by professional musicians from across the UK and Europe.

Sharing their passion for multi-piano music, Jeroen and Sandra Van Veen perform a programme of contemporary works for two pianos and four hands.
Jeroen Van Veen (all 2 pianos): Incanto No. 2 in C; Minimal Preludes: No. 50 in B, No. 27 in C, No. 37 in A, all UKP
Max Richter: Andras, Horizon, Written on the Sky, plus others (piano solo)
Jean Catoire: Sonata No. 3 for Four Hands Piano Op. 222 WP
Lawrence Ball: Spiral Magnet WP and Fiery Reel WP (piano four hands) Ten Holt: Canto Ostinato (two pianos) (45 mins)
