Stephen Bourne will present an illustrated talk about some of the gay men who feature in his latest book, Fighting Proud – The Untold Story of the Gay Men Who Served in Two World Wars. Fighting Proud includes the stories of many servicemen, such as Battle of Britain hero Ian Gleed, as well as the wartime home front experiences of Quentin Crisp, bandleader Ken ‘Snakehips’ Johnson, PC Harry Daley and Noel Coward. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
