The MOBO Organisation was established in 1996 by Kanya King MBE to recognise the outstanding achievements of artists in musical genres ranging from jazz, gospel, soul and reggae to hip hop and more recently grime and afrobeats. The organisation is best known for its prestigious MOBO Awards, a celebration of top musical and cultural achievements.

Over the years, MOBO have evolved into an all-year round movement supporting emerging as well as established talent across various musical and other creative genres as it pursues its mission to create more opportunities and platforms for talent that might otherwise go unnoticed. This includes the MOBO UnSung Tour which is coming to London on 23rd October. The tour will showcase showcase 2016 winner Alika, Lloyd Luther, Mega & Jay Alexzander, as well as Tiggs Da Author who has a unique blend of hip hop soul.

The London leg of the Tour promises to be a very hot ticket with all 10 finalists of the MOBO UnSung Class of 2016 performing. (For more info on acts see attached)

MOBO UnSung is one of the country’s strongest talent competitions for unsigned artists producing original work. A nationwide search culminates in 10 finalists, with the top 3 receiving grants towards their work, as well as a year long artist development program of industry and production workshops facilitated by MOBO in addition to the MOBO UnSung Tour.

Various UnSung artists have gone on to sign deals with labels and publishers (Alika, Jacob Banks, Mulally), tour with global stars such as Justin Bieber (MIC LOWRY), put out major releases (Geovarn, Tiana Major and Juls with 2.9m plays) and even gone on to win their own MOBO Award in 2016 (Nadia Rose who entered the competition in 2014).
