Formed in the United Arab Emirates in 2015, Tse Tse Fly Middle East started life as a monthly sound art club night. Now based in London, Tse Tse Fly Middle East is a registered non-profit experimental arts organisation that kickstarts discussions on human rights and freedom of speech issues via live performances, workshops and interventions. Tse Tse Fly Middle East is home to a core collective of artists and activists, all of whom use sound as an integral part of their practise.
The next Tse Tse Fly Middle East event in London takes place at IKLECTIK in Waterloo on Thursday November 2nd.
The night will feature a curated screening of short experimental films and NGO videos followed by live experimental music performances. The evening will support five charities/organisations: Womankind Worldwide (workers’ rights), FORWARD UK (FGM, child marriage and obstetric fistula in Africa), Labour Behind the Label (supporting garment workers' rights), Amnesty International (human rights and justice) and Index On Censorship (supporting freedom of expression).
Literature from the charities and organisations will be available on the night along with the opportunity to sign up for their various newsletters.
