Draped Seated Woman returns to the East End after 20 years

“Old Flo” is an East Ender again, as she relocates to her new home in Canary Wharf.

Henry Moore’s Draped Seated Woman will return to the East End for all to see from Monday 23rd October. The famous bronze sculpture, known locally as ‘Old Flo’, was the was originally housed on the Stifford Estate in Stepney. When the estate was demolished in the 1990s, Old Flo was sent to Yorkshire Sculpture Park for temporary safe keeping. After an extended, 20-year stay in Yorkshire. A campaign, led by local Mayor John Biggs, has seen this national treasure return to her rightful home in London’s East End.

With an estimated value of £18 million, “Old Flo” required a safe and secure home for the next five years. She will be positioned amongst Canary Wharf’s public art collection that now comprises over 65 stand-alone sculptures, as well as pieces integrated with the architectural fabric of the estate.
