Dance Like I've Got Diamonds Christmas Extravaganza

This Christmas, London-based promoter Dance Like I’ve Got Diamonds have decided to not only go with their usual aim - to support and empower women in music - but to support and empower women, period. Recent events such as the #metoo movement have raised a new debate about what most women already knew, how extremely widespread the sexual, physical and psychological violence against women still is and that it can be found almost anywhere - especially in close relations.With their Christmas Extravaganza event, Dance Like I’ve Got Diamonds wish to continue the debate about what can be done to end men’s violence against women, by giving back to their local community and support women’s aid organisation Nia, who specialises in helping victims of rape and domestic violence.

The event itself will take place the 6th December at The Victoria Dalston, showcasing an extravagant line-up indeed! Headlining on the night will be feminist-punk favourites Dream Nails who have been described by others as ‘The Ramones meets Bikini Kill’ and who describes themselves as ‘100% DIY feminist punk witches’. Their mantra goes ‘Girls to the front!’ and their aim is to create a safe-space at each and every one of their shows, where women and non-binary people can enjoy themselves and the music beyond male domination. The 27th October this year the group released their second EP ‘Dare To Care’ and if it is something that this band is known for it is the fact that they really care about their sisters.

Other performances on the night will be made by West London’s own Baby Arms that sing about ‘insomnia, sex, post-monogamy, SAD and change’ accompanied by an electric guitar, and some very special guest that will be revealed closer to the event.
