We will be holding a private view on the 17th November 2017 ( last day of show) for The first London exhibition by the North Sea Magical Realists, the Exhibition is held at the Tripp Gallery, Amwell Street, from the 3rd -18th November.

On show will be paintings, sculpture, etchings and assemblages by East Anglian artists, Guy Richardson, Peter Rodulfo, and Mark Burrell.

All three artists live and work within a stones throw of the North Sea. Peter Rodulfo moved to Great Yarmouth five years ago and Mark Burrell has lived and worked in Lowestoft since childhood. Guy Richardson was for many years a Punch and Judy Man on Great Yarmouth beach, but now lives and works in Lowestoft.

Whilst each artist follows their own highly individual paths, they are united by vivid imaginations and a warmth and respect for each others work. Their creations all express what it is to be human from the inside out, and in doing so navigate an imaginative course between the subjective and the objective, creating art works that swim against the tide of much of today`s accepted art practice. Expect to see the unexpected, and to relish a feast for the imagination. The North Sea Realists were established two years ago, but their roots go back nearly 40 years. It was in 1982 that Guy and Peter first exhibited together in London at the Margaret Fisher Gallery. In the ensuing years Guy often spoke to Peter about Mark, having spotted an affinity in their work.

It was not until 2003 that Mark Burrell and Peter Rodulfo finally met, however not in East Anglia, but in a bar in New York whilst they were both exhibiting in The Jarvis Centre.

Together and separately Mark Burrell, Guy Richardson, and Peter Rodulfo have shown at numerous East Anglian venues; also in London at the Margaret Fisher Gallery, The Royal Academy, The Barbican, Price Waterhouse, Heifer Gallery, Dan Lan De Bairead, Cork street, Sotheby’s, The House of Commons, ‘The Discerning Eye’ at the Mall Galleries and also at various art fairs.

In the USA they have shown in New York`s Interact Gallery, The Jarvis Centre ‘New York Expo’, Williamsberg Historical Centre and also in several Miami art fairs. Further exhibitions have been in China, Brazil, Venezuela, Thailand, France, Switzerland and Hong Kong. Museum shows have included Norwich, Peterborough and Hong Kong. Their work is held in private and public collections; including the British Museum and in Norfolk museum service collections. There have also been numerous television appearances, along side George Melly, Sister Wendy Beckett and Bill Oddie. Prizes have included Anglia television’s ‘First Prize’ and The Overseas League’s ‘Lucy Morrison Memorial Prize’.
