AWAYTOMARS LAUNCHES CONCEPT POP-UP STORE IN BOROUGH MARKET, LONDON

Concept co-creation brand AWAYTOMARS opens its first bricks-and-mortar space in London’s Borough Market and brings the internet to reality. The Pop-Up Store will offer customers an exclusive preview to the AW18 co-created collection in a well designed curated space. Combining art, fashion and music, AWAYTOMARS opens its doors to an extra special experience which complements the international community spirit of Borough Market and the AWAYTOMARS ethos.

AWAYTOMARS is the world’s biggest fashion collective of the digital age, where aspiring talents from around the globe come together as a community to co-create designs. The designs and process will be presented at the Borough Market Store for 1 month alongside an interesting series of events, and a viewing of the original artwork that was created on their first fashion show.

Founder & CEO Alfredo Orobio says “Bringing the co-creation concept to life was the next step in the evolution of AWAYTOMARS. It’s important for us to meet new customers and encourage them to become part of our community. We want to start a revolution in the design world and the best way to do this, is by introducing new customers and keen designers to the concept.”

Aiming to connect users with the digital anthropology of technological ingenuity, AWAYTOMARS are teaming up with Holition, an award-winning innovation agency, to organise the show case of a VR experience in-store. Holition, holds their annual UX Sprints competition to recognise those who use future technologies as means to explore human nature and interaction. Last year's winner, University of the Arts London student, Piera Mascoli, breathes new life into the fable of Alice in Wonderland via Virtual Reality, using tangible (scented and edible) plants, and an antique desk full of wonders. Mascoli’s project, Inside the Spyglass, will showcase at the pop up during Holition's Nurture Breakfast, aptly named after the nurturing the plants in Piera's project require to survive. The Nurture Breakfast will discuss Inside the Spyglass, as well as a thought experiment activity exploring the attention that we must pay technologies to preserve them.

On the 25th November AWAYTOMARS will offer customers a brunch in store and a chance to meet the team behind the innovation, opening up opportunities for keen designers to learn and understand how to contribute to next forthcoming collections. People will also be able to buy samples from AW17 (Collection 602), Pre-order collection 718 and most importantly will be able to co-create the print that will be the theme for the AW18/19 Collection.

AWAYTOMARS promote innovation and design thinking and has incorporated this into its first ever POP-UP Store by inviting key partners to exhibit and interact with the space.
