From dried plants to taxidermy, natural history substances have a special significance in the history of witchcraft. Using objects from the Museum, art historian Petra Lange-Berndt is convening this edition of The Whitechapel Gallery’s The Curios-Society, that meets to investigate the weird and wonderful, the likely and impossible. Join her, historian Sarah Wade, artist and writer Jane Wildgoose and Direct of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic Simon Costin to discuss the strange and familiar interpretations of the natural world in artist Mark Dion’s work.

This event is in collaboration with The Whitechapel Gallery and part of Mark Dion: Theatre of the Natural World exhibition event programme.
