This fantastic "Groove" gig features the band of guitarist Bobby Quigley, a formidable young musician who includes work with the likes of Pete Ray Biggin, Imaani and Katie Leone on an impressive cv. The music will be an infectious blend of Groove and Jazz featuring a selection of classic groove standards with the occasional original thrown in for good measure. As would be expected, the rest of the band is made up of some of the finest musicians on the scene, the remarkable Ross Stanley (Deodato, Simply Red) on keyboards, groove powerhouse Loz Garrett on bass and the terrific Rod Youngs (Gil Scott-Heron, Natalie Cole) on drums. Bobby's special guests this evening will be the wonderful singers Noel McCalla & Sumudu. A regular here at the Club Noel is probably best known for his groundbreaking work with the iconic band Morrissey Mullen before becoming the voice of internationally acclaimed organist Manfred Mann's Earth Band for more than 19 years. These days he can be heard with a wide variety of musicians, including 606 regulars Derek Nash and the 606 Gospel Group, as well as with his own Trio, Quartet and larger Groove band. Sumudu, includes work with the likes of Rod Stewart, Jamie Cullum, Mike Lindup from Level 42 and most recently the iconic singer/songwriter Van Morrison, which has put her at the forefront of the UK vocal scene. And watch out for a special appearance from Award winning cellist Tasya Kelly (Escala, Robbie Williams)! Be sure to attend what promises to be a “Groove” extravaganza.

“McCalla…spine tingling” Guardian; “McCalla…a confident, individual voice, graceful and dynamic." Independent on Sunday; "Sumudu...is quite simply an outstanding talent....a voice like honey" BBC
