Poets, novelists, playwrights and artists come together in solidarity. UK-based writers present new work – poetry, text, reportage, performance – celebrating and evidencing the struggle of fellow writers around the world.

The evening will include work by:

Mona Arshi for Zehra Dogan
Helen Palmer for Me Nam
Sara Upstone for Dawit Isaak
Adam Baron for Can Dündar and Erdem Gül
Prudence Chamberlain for Patiwat Saraiyaem and Pornthip Munkhong
Eley Williams for Tsering Woeser
David Spittle for Ahmedur Rashid Chowdhury (Tutil)

Plus more to be announced!

The event is intended as a call to membership for writers, artists and readers in a time where we face perilous challenges to our freedom of expression and fundamental rights and hard fought liberties, both internationally and here in the UK. The hope is that this festival begins involvements and connections which will resonate for decades to come.

Presented by Writers’ Centre Kingston and curated by SJ Fowler and Cat Lucas.
