Men behaving badly: exposing institutional scandal

In the wake of allegations against Weinstein, Trump, the Presidents Club and MPs, claims of sexual harassment of women within business and organisations are being reported on a daily basis.

City, University of London has invited leading experts to discuss these very current issues and subsequent reporting by the media.

Why is the harassment of women still an issue within business and industry and why is it making the headlines now?

Madison Marriage - journalist at the Financial Times, where she has been covering corporate tax and accounting since 2017. Madison recently went undercover as a hostess at the all-male Presidents Club charity dinner at London's Dorchester Hotel. Previously she wrote about the global asset management industry. Madison joined the FT in 2012 from Incisive Media where she worked on two investment titles.

Professor Chris Greer - Criminologist with expertise in organisational scandal. Professor Greer recently presented a BBC Radio 4 documentary The Scandal Machine where he traces the evolution of scandals involving high-profile public figures and how the media report them.

Professor Heather Brooke - Investigative Journalist who helped expose the 2009 MP expenses scandal. Professor Brooke is the author of Your Right to Know (2006), The Silent State (2010), and The Revolution Will Be Digitised (2011).

We are delighted to welcome back our chair for the evening Professor Lis Howell, Director of Broadcasting at City and expert and researcher on women in broadcasting.
