Dance theatre discovering sight through touch.
Produced and presented by EDIFICE Dance Theatre

Hosted by The Cockpit

Tenome - eyes on hand.

The Tenome is a mythical creature derived from Japanese urban legend. The Tenome is a blind, humanoid creature who sees through eyes embedded into the palms of its hands. In this work EDIFICE dance theatre draws on the notion of ‘seeing’ through touch, flesh contact and intuition to explore the importance of meaningful, physical human connection.

Combining the flow of Contact improvisation and the rhythms, dynamics and attack of ballroom, EDIFICE Dance Theatre presents a journey through shades of mystery, vibrancy and sensuality as they discover a heighten sense of 'sight' through touch.

“When one flesh is waiting, there is electricity in the merest contact.” Wallace Stegner, Angle of Repose
