Sarah Blasko, one of Australia’s most influential contemporary artists, announces a return to the UK for two solo rare shows, following the release of her new album ‘Depth of Field’. The first show coming to Islington’s Assembly Hall. This extraordinary, unsettling and bewitching musician and singer will perform solo for the first time in the UK. “I’ve been hoping to bring a solo show to the UK ever since my Soloist Tour in Australia last year. It was one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done & the response was amazing” said Sarah. “Reimagined older songs alongside a good dose of my new album ‘Depth Of Field’, it’ll be a very intimate & unique show with some unexpected touches”. With her remarkable voice, one which ‘combines fragility and defiance’, audiences can expect a captivatingly beautiful performance. “…she’s just got one of those voices hasn’t she? She could sing the phone book. Really brilliant. Everything she’s done has been fantastic” Lauren Laverne. Sarah Blasko writes songs that strike with rare immediacy, clarity and purpose. Melodies beguilingly simple, lyrics honest and direct. Music steeped in atmosphere and mood. From the now-classic debut The Overture & The Underscore (2004) to 2015’s stunning synthladen Eternal Return) and now Depth Of Field, Sarah’s six-album run of genre-defining indie-rock and art-pop is unparalleled.
