Singing With Nightingales Live (SWN: LIVE) at The Southbank Centre, is curated by Mercury Music nominated folk artist Sam Lee and produced by The Nest Collective. SWN: LIVE invites audiences to experience a unique collaboration between musician and bird as the magic of Singing with Nightingales is brought from the woodlands of Sussex and Kent, into the comfort of the concert hall.

A live transmission from Knepp Castle, will follow an ornothologist's starlit walk into the woods to hear one of the UK’s rarest birds, the nightingale, sing its courtship song. Meanwhile, Sam Lee will be joined on stage by special guest artists Kadialy Kouyate & Donal Kearney for "the strangest & most wonderful concert" (The Observer)

Part of the RSPB National Nightingale Festival, SWN is raising awareness of the fast-declining population of nightingales in the UK, in the face of decreasing habitats. The number of birds visiting England has fallen by 91% in the last 40 years, with only 5500 pairs remaining, mainly in the South East. SWN: LIVE is an increasingly rare opportunity for wider audiences far from the nesting sites to hear the birds sing, and is supported by Arts Council England.
