Absent Kelly Emerging: Chapter One

Absent Kelly are bringing a night of some of the promoter’s favourite emerging acts to 229 this May.

Topping the evening’s bill is Chapter One. Chapter One are a West London trio whose infectious indie rock and roll, with soulful elements, reminiscent of the 1975, is original and is turning heads on the underground circuit right now. We can’t wait to see what this young band do next!

London based Frayed will be providing support. They may only be young, but this four piece are already making waves with their feel good, no frills, indie rock ‘n’ roll! With grungy elements, these guys are far from a sickly sweet, jangly indie band, and have a real edge.

Waiting for Smith’s sound is, in his own words, a “blend of new indie folk with a hint of pop, poignant ballads and foot-tapping soulful groove”. He’s gained great reviews from some top publications, including Clash Magazine, and recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios.

New kids on the block, Raindogs are a London quintet who plays classic indie that has already seen them play some of the Capital’s best loved venues including Nambucca, The Dublin Castle and The Rocksteady.

Joining us all the way from Leeds for the show is Paradas. This four piece play anthemic indie rock that has already seen them gain a name for themselves on their local scene and now they’re ready to show the Capital what they’re made of.
