Join the HarfousH Jazz Band for a night of Egyptian and American timeless songs at London’s hottest gallery, The Underdog London.

The Harfoush Jazz Band offers a new jazz sound with a fusion of American and Egyptian 1940s and 1950s jazz featuring swing, ballad and latino versions of iconic Egyptian pop songs under a project titled The Egyptian Jazz Projekt.

The Harfoush Jazz Band was founded by Egyptian London-based jazz vocalist Ahmed Harfoush in October 2015, bringing a new sound to jazz through unique arrangements mainly inspired by 1950s Egyptian and American songs. The band’s newest project, ‘The Egyptian Jazz Projekt’ takes us back to the golden age of music with timeless classics by Egypt’s most popular performers such as Abdel Wahab and Abdel Halim skilfully blended with the music of American composers including Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Jerome Kern. The project was performed in Paris, Berlin, Cairo, Vienna and at Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room last month.

Ahmed Harfoush received vocal training at Mountview Academy for Theatre Arts in London and performed in Edinburgh, Melbourne, Damascus, Cairo, Dubai, Amman, Athens, Larnaca, Prague, Paris, Berlin and Vienna. Harfoush sang with the Cambridgeshire Youth Orchestra, the West of England Youth Orchestra, the Nile Symphony Orchestra at Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt and the Macedonian Philharmonic in Skopje. His latest single is out soon this year, titled Sweet Little Sin, mixing electro swing, tango and pop.

Bar food and drinks available to purchase on the night.
