And much more.......

“Tchaikovsky meets the Beatles” is the best introduction to this delightful concert by St Joseph’s High School Symphony Orchestra and Band. These 14 to 18-year-old students have won praise throughout the mid-western USA, and produce a sound that would credit many professional orchestras.

Grieg’s Peer Gynt suite and Gershwin’s Summertime are instantly recognisable, and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings never fails to bring a tear to the eye.

Combine these with some jazz, some swing and some of the best-known tunes from The Beatles, and you have the recipe for a perfect lunch-time interlude, in which Britain and the New World come together in an atmosphere of relaxation and easy listening in the glorious surroundings of Southwark Cathedral.
