With their bright, contemporary jazz fusion sound the Jam Experiment are, in the words of BBC Radio 3 Jazz Line-up presenter Claire Martin, “bound for great things”, and we couldn’t agree more. A product of London’s fizzing jazz scene, which is fed at least in part by the proliferation of talent emerging from the UK’s world-class conservatoires, this cracking quintet has already performed at the London Jazz, Love Supreme and Cheltenham Festivals and been singled out for recognition in Jazzwise Magazine’s 2018 ‘Shape of Jazz to Come’ annual issue. The Jam Experiment’s self-titled debut album was accompanied by a 40-date UK tour and the band, which features 2017 British Jazz “Rising Star” trombonist Rory Ingham, brother Dominic Ingham (violin/vocals), Toby Comeau (keyboards), Joe Lee (bass) and Jonny Mansfield (drums), are now working on their second record, new material from which we’ll be hearing tonight. With an emphasis on dynamic improvisational interplay where each member can take on the role of leader, the Experiment’s compositions, however intricate, have an unmistakable groove and remain accessible to their core. Their music has been heard on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland and Jazz FM and we’re looking forward to a terrific live show as they play at the 606 for the first time.

"Jam Experiment takes what is a refreshing audience-friendly approach that embraces jazz-funk with as much passion and seriousness as more traditional influences” Jazzwise; "Their ability to connect with the audience was exceptional...a joy!" BBC Radio 3; "Jam Experiment is ‘feel good’, … intelligently crafted… and irresistible." London Jazz News
