Kelly O'Brien

It is with great pleasure that we welcome to the Club tonight the multi-Award winning expatriate Australian singer Kelly O'Brien. A very old friend of the Club, Kelly has been seen here with various artists for more than 10 years, but has finally found a space in her busy schedule to bring in her very own band. A singer of vast experience Kelly has been performing for over 20 years in number of styles and genres and includes on an impressive cv awards such as South Australian Country Vocalist of the Year, Best New Talent (at the famous Australian Gympie Muster Music Festival) and The UK National Tribute Awards 4 years running. Her theatre and TV credits include: Starlight Express, Tonight’s the Night, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Good Morning Australia, Popstars, and most recently the BBC 1 show “Even Better Than the Real Thing”. Kelly is, though, not only a singer but also a comedienne, actor and impressionist. Her multi award winning tribute to Dolly Parton, The Dolly Show, has travelled the world earning her the reputation of being the World’s best Dolly impersonator (really, I kid you not!). Tonight, however, she shares with us what we think she really does best, her love of R&B and Soul. With a powerhouse voice and personality to match this promises to be a special evening of high quality Groove from Kelly, and she, unsurprisingly, has some of the best musicians in the UK accompanying her: Frank Walden (Amy Winehouse, Tom Jones)-sax, Dave Ital (Chaka Khan, Anastasia)-guitar, Dave Oliver (Mama’s Gun, Lisa Stansfield)-keyboard, Neil Raymond (Ola Onabule, The Reel People)-bass and Paul Jones (Sigma, Labyrinth)-drums, plus Emily Farrar & Amy Bone on backing vocals to bring you some serious, high energy, Blues, Soul and R&B.
