The Deli Comedy Festival is a month-long season of previews of some of the best comedy that will be appearing at this year’s Edinburgh Festival and beyond. Whether it is the latest material from those names we know and love, or discovering the new generation of comics breaking through, this exciting new festival will bring an explosive burst of cutting edge comedy to audiences across London.

Tonight, the Deli Comedy Festival Presents:

Beard: Baby Come Back (Work in Progress)
Returning after their award-winning, sell-out 2015 show, Beard (‘one of the best kept secrets in comedy-town’ (List)) are back with their genre-defying comedy. Part-romance, part-nightmare, part-darkly-intimate-experience, Baby Come Back is the latest offering from these masters of tension and surprise. ‘One of the most assured comedy performances you could hope to see’ (Skinny). ‘New architectures for comedy... halfway between poetic-strange and comic-strange’ (Guardian). ‘A truly exceptional piece of work... a genuine masterpiece’ (LaughOutLondonComedyClub.co.uk). ‘A beautiful, otherworldly experience’ (Telegraph).

Evelyn Mok: Bubble Butt (Work in Progress)
After an eventful year, Evelyn's feeling the paradigm shift and trying to figure out her place in this brave new world. In this much-anticipated second hour, the sharp-witted comedian explores her agency, the third-culture-kid-experience, weight loss and what this shift means for her as a woman of colour. Seen on Chris Ramsey's Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and Rhys Darby's Furious Andrew (Channel 4). Winner: Best Newcomer, The Pleasance Indies Awards. BBC New Talent Hotlist 2017. 'Uncensored, unapologetic and... wildly refreshing' **** (BroadwayBaby.com). 'Honest and revealing comedy... both poignant and funny' **** (ShortCom.co.uk).
