Pencak Silat Festival - Indonesian Martial Arts

Come and join the mystical, lethal yet beautiful Indonesian martial art ‘Pencak Silat’ in a one day Festival in London. This event is organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London and the Pencak Silat Federation UK, the national body for Silat in the UK. The Festival brings together Silat Schools to showcase unique traditional Silat styles from different regions of Indonesia, as well as Sports Silat. Watch and learn from qualified Teachers and Instructors from 5 Silat Schools, - Panglipur, Kuntao Matjan, Gerak Ilham, Silek Harimau Minangkabau, and Silat Setia Hai Terate, and join in workshops to learn skills first hand. The festival features a very special guest, Kang Cecep Arif Rahman, a renowned Master of Silat Panglipur, whose appearances in The Raid 2 and Star Wars; The Force Awakens have raised awareness of Pencak Silat around the world. In his special appearance, Kang Cecep will demonstrate his art and conduct a workshop in Silat Panglipur. Listen to his life journey during the talkshow session, from starting as a student of Silat to becoming a martial arts movie star. This is a free event and open for all ages. Traditional Indonesian food will be sold at the venue.
