WWT’s founder Sir Peter Scott enjoyed capturing the beauty of wildfowl and wetland landscapes through drawing and painting. Today, many artists and photographers are inspired by the result of his vision of a thriving urban wildlife habitat here at WWT London Wetland Centre. Come along to our workshop and learn some basic drawing techniques – all materials will be provided.

Artist Judith Gordon leads this drawing workshop for those who are fascinated by the natural world and want to learn more by studying wildlife, plants and natural forms in detail. The day will begin with an introduction to drawing materials and basic techniques, with the focus on autumnal foliage, fungi and seasonal migratory birds. She’ll provide photographs and some specimens for drawing, enabling you to focus on details such as the beautiful shapes, colours and shading. During a one-hour break you’ll be able to purchase lunch in the Kingfisher Kitchen and also take the opportunity to explore the wildlife reserve to draw some flora in situ.

In the afternoon you can choose a new subject to draw to practice your new skills! Suitable for adults ages 16 and over. £40 per person (includes all materials) plus paid admission to the Centre. Booking essential: please call 020 8409 4400.
