Japan Matsuri

London’s very own festival of Japanese culture – Japan Matsuri – returns to Trafalgar Square and brings people together to enjoy Japanese food, music, dance and activities for all the family.

There will be plenty to see all day with an exciting programme across two stages, including amazing displays of martial arts and cultural demonstrations from the traditional taiko drumming, to modern influences including fashion designers and J-Rock bands. Free to join activities include Japanese games, calligraphy and origami or you can try your hand at Japanese cartoons on the manga wall. There will even be opportunity to dress up in Kimonos.
Visitors can enjoy an array of mouth-watering Japanese festival food from a host of brightly coloured food stalls, offering classic Japanese street snacks such as takoyaki octopus balls, and more substantial meals such as wagyu burgers, ramen, and bento boxes.

Japan Matsuri is organised jointly by the Japan Association, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Japan Society and Nippon Club, with support from the Embassy of Japan. Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) will be on hand to offer travel information and suggested trip itineraries.
