A Drunken Sailor Presents: Playback, (subtitle): Open Theatre Rehearsal

These sessions are an open rehearsal for our Playback company. Playback combines improvisation techniques with Indian storytelling and the actors spontaneously play back full length stories and moments from the audience or their own lives. It can be anything from a mundane event on the way to the theatre to a traumatic childhood experience. For each session there would be a conductor, who invites audience members to come up and share their stories and then between two to four players; these roles can shift during the session or remain fixed. We use different forms and structures and coloured cloths to support the story telling. As well as focusing on the therapeutic benefits of sharing stories, Playback can also provide relief through comedy.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Chapel is just off Old Ford Road, behind the Gallery Cafe. It is 3 minutes walk from Bethnal Green Station and 10 minutes walk from Cambridge Heath Station.
