Big Band Bash with Down for The Count Swing Orchestra

Featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller & Benny Goodman

To open the JBGB Events 2018 EFG London Jazz Festival Series, we present the toe tapping, hip swaying and finger popping happy sounds of the swing era. And for their debut concert at The Other Palace Studio, the wonderful 11-piece Swing Orchestra, ‘Down for The Count’ with their vocalists, under the direction of pianist, arranger Mike Paul-Smith.

The Down for the Count Swing Orchestra are one of London’s hottest bands, bringing the sounds of the Swing Era back to life, with a stunning and energetic show.

Described as “a breath of fresh air on the swing scene”, the band perform their own arrangements of the big band classics of the 1930s and 1940’s.
