A Season of Bangla Drama presents Scratch night: Golper Shuru/ The Story Begins

A Season of Bangla Drama has offered a unique opportunity to potential new female writers to develop their ideas for performance. This performance is a culmination of a six week programme and will see novice writers Nadia Ali and Syeda Tasmia Tahiya embark on a mentored project, exploring how to translate ideas to script and then to stage.

Mentored by the experienced Bengali Writer/ Director Rokshana Khan, they will have explored themes of empowerment and challenges faced by Bengali women. The first time writers Nadia Ali and Syeda Tasmia Tahiya will explore how their ideas translate to a written script and then to performance.

This is a 60 min performance of the Work in Progress/Scratch performance with the reading/performance of the pieces devised by the first time writers, including a short presentation on the challenges faced by female Bengali writers and an opportunity for Q&A.
