States of Water

Bob Aldous returns to One Paved Court to display his beautiful abstract paintings. Painted with watercolour, ink and acrylic on silk, Aldous eloquently captures the effect of light on water. These paintings are not however depictions of a particular place or time but abstractions that evoke memories of landscape. The silk stained canvas have a luminosity and quality of lightness. Like a visual Haiku the noise of everyday life is paired down to its essence: a place of inner calm and connectedness.

Bob Aldous has a BA from Ravensbourne, and an MA from the University of East Anglia. He lives in Richmond and his studio is in Kew. He has exhibited widely and has been shortlisted for the Sunday Times watercolour competition and the Ashurst Art Prize.
