This Friday the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) will host a panel discussion organised by the Fawcett Society, Britain’s leading gender equality charity, about influential women who have shaped the City of London’s history.
‘Behind Every Great City’ is part of the City of London Corporation’s ‘Women Work & Power’ season of events celebrating women’s achievements.
Chaired by Sam Smethers, Chief Executive of The Fawcett Society, speakers include Sharon Ament, Director of the Museum of London, Joanne McCartney AM, Statutory Deputy Mayor of London and Sajna Rahman, Business Development Manager at multi-national corporation, Sodexo.
Sharon Ament will delve into the Museum of London’s archives and look back over London’s past to examine the journey taken by the women of London over the course of the City of London’s history. Sanja Rahman will recount her experiences as one of London’s rising female business stars while Joanne McCartney will give her take on how women have shaped the City with reference to how the Mayor’s Office is supporting women.
