Come along to Achieve Lifestyle (Egham Leisure Centre) to celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities.

The activity day is open to adults with disabilities to provide the opportunity to get involved in a variety different sports and activities including, boccia, football, cage cricket, community golf, table tennis, stretch session and a fitness sessions. Participants will have the chance to rotate around different activities.

Boccia (9.30am – 10.30am) – a disability sport that tests muscle control and accuracy. It can be played by people with varying disabilities. It is a game very similar to bowls.

Chill-out (9.30am -12.30pm) – Room available for relaxation and games.

Football (10am – 11am) – football for all provides equal sporting opportunities for people to get involved in a flexible and accessible version of the traditional sport.

Cage Cricket (10am – 11am) – an inclusive format of the game played in an enclosed space such as a sports hall or multi use games area. It is the only form of competitive cricket played as an individual.

Community Golf (11am – 12pm) – the interactive session compliments the traditional golf format using specially adapted equipment to ensure no damage with faster play to provide a positive experience.

Table Tennis (11am – 12pm) – remains very much the same where two or four players hit a lightweight ball across the table just with slightly adapted rules.

Fitness Class (12.15pm – 12.45pm) – A Easy to follow fin circuit, suitable for GP referral clients as well as those returning to exercise. It includes cardiovascular, functional exercises and stretching.

Carers Talk (12.30pm- 1.30pm) – An interactive tall aimed at carers lead by Action for Carers, Surrey

Stretch Session (1pm – 1.30pm) – A low impact stretch class suitable and beneficial for all. Stretching can be the key to keeping injuries at bay. Ideal for post workout to relax and cool down.
