City of London Sinfonia presents a performance in words and music to commemorate the centenary of the end of the Great War at the beautiful Southwark Cathedral.
The beautiful and consoling music of Fauré’s Requiem is framed by original concert-theatre adaptations by Bill Barclay, Director of Music at Shakespeare’s Globe. These texts, written to commemorate the end of the Great War 100 years ago, have been drawn from testaments of both people fighting and awaiting the return of loved ones at home.
