The Campaign - an all-female political comedy

‘The Campaign’ is an all-female political comedy show in the style of The Thick Of It, The West Wing and VEEP.

Inspired by audience suggestions and polls, the fast-paced improvised show makes light of the current political era, exploring issues that matter to voters, and the drama and backstabbing that we become accustomed to seeing across the news.

In conjunction with The City of London Corporation’s Women: Work And Power season of events, ‘The Campaign’ will be directed by the award-winning Katy Schutte, one of the UK’s leading improvisational comedy performers. Among other performers, Katy will be joined by Maria Peters and Lauren Shearling from comedy duo ‘Breaking & Entering’ for what promises to be a night of political self-promotion perfect for politicos.

The evening celebrates the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, which gave some women over 30 the right to vote; the Parliament (Qualification of Women) Act, which allowed women over 21 to stand for election; and the election of the first female MP.
