Seven ‘name’ instrumentalists that played with Kenny Ball’s last band have come together to pay tribute to the UK’s most successful Dixieland bandleader of all-time. Kenny Ball formed his first band in 1958 and throughout the 1960s he had 14 NME Chart hits and reached No 2 in the UK and USA with his worldwide ‘smash’ “Midnight in Moscow”.
Regular appearances on every series of the brilliant BBC ‘Morecambe & Wise’ show exposed the band to a vast audience. Award-winning Trombone star Ian Bateman leads, Ben Cummings - Trumpet / Vocals, Richard Exall - Clarinet, Martin Litton - Piano, Tom ‘Spats’ Langham - Banjo, John Day – Bass and Steve Rushton – Drums, performing Kenny’s original arrangements of “Someday you’ll be sorry”, “ March of the Siamese Children'' and ”Samantha”.
