This line up of musicians is a real treat, each a bandleader in their own right and all performing on the 606 stage for one evening only! Including current and former members of the iconic band Level 42 you can expect a mixture of jazz-funk and rock infused rhythms, guaranteed to delight. PHIL GOULD is a drummer of the highest calibre. One of the founding members of Level 42 he is a world class rhythmic dynamo as well as a highly talented songwriter, co-writing some of Level 42's earliest hits including "World Machine" and "Something About You". The driving force behind this evening’s gig, since leaving the band Phil has gone on to forge a successful career as a highly sought after session musician playing with artists of the highest quality, as well as producing some brilliant solo work. MIKE LINDUP Mike was also a founding member of Level 42, kick-starting a staggeringly successful career as a keyboard player. His incredible achievements as part of Level 42 include 13 albums recorded between 1981 and 1994, worldwide album sales of over 15 million, top ten singles in four continents and an incredible array of live dates at prestigious venues around the world. As well as continuing to appear with Level 42 Mike has also released two great solo albums of his own and performed with numerous world-class musicians including Dominic Miller (Sting), Da Lata and Negrocan. And coming over from France just for this date WALLY BADAROU, French-born synthesizer specialist, composer and record producer, is considered the unofficial "5th member" of Level 42, collaborating with the band since the 1980's and helping to shape the unique sound for which they are renowned. His instrumental prowess and remarkable inventiveness can be heard on a multitude of albums by top artists including Robert Palmer, Herbie Hancock, Talking Heads, Mick Jagger and Jimmy Cliff and he was one of the pioneers of the digital music revolution, his album “Words of a Mountain” being one of the very first “tapeless” recordings. His commitment to Sub-Saharan African music, producing albums for Afro-beat and world music performers including Salif Keïta, Fela Kuti and Wasis Diop while also being a major force in organising the prestigious Kora All Africa Music Award, marks him out as an international musician of considerable standing and presence. Completing the line up this evening will be the, unsurprisingly, impressive rhythm section of Sophie Lord-bass and Pete Eckford-percussion. This remarkable combination of international talent is guaranteed to produce a unique and unforgettable night of music, booking definitely advised. “Mike Lindup…amazing…first-rate performance…musicianship is brilliant” AllMusic; "Gould provided an uplifting…evening [of]...fine vocals, lean grooves and good vibes. It’s always a pleasure to hear him at the kit, and it’s also always a pleasure to get down to the 606, one of the great hidden gems of the London music scene" Movingtheriver.com; "In demand French electro-boogie from Wally Badarou…electronics wizardry fused with a tough dance groove" Soul Brothers
