606 "Xmas Jam" with Samara ft. Rachael Calladine

Well, Xmas is almost upon us, and at this time of the year we really get in to the spirit of it all! This is the last night for us before we close for the holidays and we traditionally invite all the musicians who have performed at the Club through the year to come down for a jam. The band featured tonight is Club boss Steve Rubie’s group Samara, a five-piece jazz/Latin/Groove band, and suffice it to say we think the guys in the band are just great! The pianist, Neil Angilley works with Vanessa Mae, Shirley Bassey and “Down to the Bone”, Dill Katz, the bass player, is visiting professor at the Guildhall and Nic France the drummer, has worked with just about everyone, including Dave Gilmore (Pink Floyd) and Bill Withers. And watch out for our Special Guest vocalist, Rachael Calladine. The music is an infectious mix of jazz, Latin and Groove and after the mid evening "Jam session" we usually take the tables out for the last set so everyone can dance, so bring your dancing shoes and prepare to have a great time!
