About the event

Kicking off their exciting programme of cultural events for the year ahead, Duddell’s London Bridge is delighted to announce that it will be part of Chinese Arts Now (CAN) Festival 2019 by offering its diners the chance to experience Citizens of Nowhere?, an immersive theatre production that will take place live within
the historic walls of the listed St Thomas Church from 26th January to 2nd February 2019.

The performance at Duddell’s follows the production’s acclaimed premiere at Southbank Centre last year.

Written by the award-winning playwright Ming Ho, Citizens of Nowhere? follows a British-Chinese family's conversation about identity and relationships played out in a humorous, real-time audio drama. During the intimate 45-minute performance, the audience will be quite literally immersed in the action as they
eavesdrop on the compelling storyline through a headset while actors perform the scene around them.

During the performance, attendees will be able to enjoy drinks and/or dishes from Duddells’ classic-meetscontemporary menu, such as their signature Hybrid Jia Tea cocktail, Crispy Prawn & Mango Dumplings, or standout Barbeque Iberico Pork with Honey Glaze and Soy Beans.

The first of its kind outside of Hong Kong, Duddell’s London Bridge is not only renowned for its authentic, high-quality Cantonese cuisine but also its dedicated art programme that plays host to variousspecial events and exhibitions throughout the year. Alongside welcoming the Citizens of Nowhere? production, the space
is currently home to the OH…MY TOY!, a solo exhibition by the renowned Hong Kong artist Michael Lau that explores the intersection between art, religion and popular culture through site-specific artworks displayed in the restaurant.
