Following on from the success of last year’s sell-out event when Francesco Mazzei took on top chef Tom Aikens, this year it will be Michelin-starred Merlin Labron-Johnson going head-to-head with Fiume’s chef patron in the second Ready, Steady, Cook-Off to raise money for The Felix Project.

For one night only on the 28th January, Francesco Mazzei will be inviting Merlin Labron-Johnson, executive chef at The Conduit to his riverside restaurant, Fiume, at Battersea Power Station for a friendly competition that will see both chefs and their teams cooking with ingredients provided by the charity. Diners will sample both chef’s dishes before voting for their favourite using the BBC show’s iconic red tomato and green pepper score cards.Collecting surplus stock from supermarkets, wholesalers and retailers, The Felix Project deliver to various charities, providing vulnerable people with food and nutrition. For this special event, the chefs will use these ingredients to create a variety of sharing dishes for guests to enjoy. With each chef bringing their own flare and culinary skill to each dish, diners will then be encouraged to choose their favourite with one team declared the winner at the end of the evening by the compère.
