I Need to Cher was created by Heather Bandenburg, who has been obsessed with Cher since a young age.

Using interactive activities; feminist performance; and informative presentations - a menagerie of Chers take the audience through a journey that spans Cher's six decade influence on popular culture. The show is DIY, unashamed in its love and passion for Cher and what she stands for as a feminist hero, incorporating comedy, queer commentary, music, audience particpation and wrestling. At the first show we were tweeted by Cher, since then we have not stopped Chering.

I Need to Chersold out four three consecutive shows last year across London, as well as storming the Cabaret stage at Latitude Festival; and featuring on Lauren Laverne’s radio 6 show earlier this year. This outing at CPT stars key cast members Heather, Rebecca Biscuit (Sh!t Theatre) and Vijay Patel (Pull the Trigger) and promises a power hour of Cher joy.

What people have said about I Need to Cher:
“The single most charming night I’ve ever been to.”
“I just saw a female wrestler dressed as Cher through Sonny over her f*cking head while lip syncing I've Got you babe. How am I still awake?”
“You've created queer heaven.”
