Join London’s iconic Borough Market for culinary inspiration with ‘Taste the Greatness of Northern Ireland’, a showcase of the premium food and drink that Northern Ireland has to offer. Guest traders will set up shop in the glass fronted Market Hall and there will be a special, free family friendly St Patrick’s Day celebrations on Sunday 17th March. The showcase will bring to life a fantastic array of award-winning produce sourced from this small, yet mighty, part of the world with a longstanding heritage in authentic, quality food and drink with outstanding flavours.

Northern Ireland was awarded the accolade of ‘Best International Food Destination’ at the prestigious International Travel and Tourism Awards in November last year, firmly cementing its place on the gastronomic world map.

A host of Northern Ireland’s producers will be taking part, selling a wide range of products including meats, traditional breads, snacks, sauces and spirits including gin, whiskey and rum. Traders include Indie Fude, in the market from 13th – 17th March, which established Northern Ireland’s first cheese collective; and Mark Douglas, the Krazi Baker, who will be selling his authentic soda and potato breads from 20th – 23rd March. Visitors will be able to watch the bread being made from scratch (using traditional recipes) and enjoy it fresh from the griddle with a delicious dollop of local butter.

On Sunday 17th March, Borough Market will open especially for a free family friendly St Patrick’s Day celebration with food, drink, cookery demos, live entertainment and of course the great produce of Northern Ireland to sample and purchase.

To inspire cooks new to ingredients from this part of the world, Northern Ireland celebrity chef Paula McIntyre will be in Borough Market’s demonstration kitchen from 13th – 17th March, cooking up delicious traditional dishes using products available at the showcase. There will be plenty of recipes to take home for visitors to rustle up a St Patrick’s Day feast.
