Swap Pimlico for the Pacific Northwest with Travel Portland at adidas city

Travel Portland and Delta Air Lines join adidas, Continental, Grenade, Vita Coco and Chipotle, amongst others, as official partners of London’s most innovative running event following a very successful first edition of the closed road running event in 2018.

The creative capital of Oregon is teaming up with adidas City Runs to give UK athletes and fitness fanatics alike a taste of Portland’s great outdoors during the ‘1 city, 1 hour’ race. Portland, also known as the city amongst the trees, is bringing an immersive pop-up to the City Runs event village on Sunday 7 April 2019 to celebrate the return of Delta Air Lines’ daily nonstop flight from London Heathrow to Portland International.

What is the 1 hour challenge? To run as far as you can in 60 minutes on a route that passes some of London’s iconic landmarks, such as St Pauls Cathedral, and test your fitness level as a measure of distance over time. Participants and spectators alike are invited to stop by the event village to find out more about Portland’s running scene and what the great city has to offer beyond adventure, exploration and a multitude of outdoor activities, surrounded by spectacular natural beauty. Visitors will also be able to relax and rejuvenate in the Portland inspired hub with opportunities to talk, taste and learn more about the city and how to get there this summer. VR units encased in Portland life-sized characters will provide visitors with a glimpse into city life through the lense of locals and there will also be an opportunity to sample native-brewed Kombucha.
