Meet serving soldiers from the Royal Armoured Corps as the Museum marks its 80th anniversary in a day of tanks, talks and family fun.
This month's Spotlight Saturday will focus on the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC), which provides the armoured warfare capability of the British Army. Its 10 Regular and 4 Reserve regiments are the descendants of a variety of units, some of whose soldiers manned the very first tanks during the First World War.
Abram Games, the subject of special exhibition 'The art of persuasion', designed recruiting posters for the RAC during the Second World War. He also redesigned the corps' badge, incorporating its iconic mailed fist.
Bring the family for a day of free workshops. Meet serving members of the RAC, learn about the history of the corps and discover what it's like to work with tanks for a living.
You can even climb aboard a real tank, and get hands-on with a range of RAC-related objects from the Museum collection.
Kids activities:
-Design your own regimental cap badge to take home.
-Test your mettle with Tank Wars: navigate an obstacle course and battle it out to see who wins.
