On Friday 10th & Saturday 11th May, the Sunday Times Wine Club Vintage Festival will return to Old Billingsgate, in the heart of London. The Club will commemorate four decades of bringing together the world’s best wine producers and customers through a showcase of over 300 wines from the world’s most popular wine regions.

To mark the 40th anniversary, attendees can enjoy a range of Tasting Theatres – each providing an interactive demonstration into the world of wine. Firstly, The Sunday Times ‘Expert Traveler’ Tasting Theatre, hosted by the Club’s newly appointed Vice-President, Will Lyons, provides the perfect blend of wine and travel, offering an exclusive insider’s guide to top wine destinations and the all-important tips to sip in style across the globe.

Another highlight includes pairing classes, chaired by Justin Howard Sneyd (Master of Wine) and artisan cheese mongers, ‘Paxton & Whitfield’, in The Cheese Academy Tasting Theatre. Guests can attend sessions to find the perfect cheese and rosé match or discover how to break traditional pairing rules.

Also new to this year and transforming the festival-goers experience, the scan-and-go app. The app will allow attendees to scan a programme or stall for top tipples which will then be delivered straight to their door after the festival.

Exclusive for 2019, attendees can meet the man behind the bottle with the book launch of Tony Laithwaite’s debut, Direct: My Story. Guests can get a snap of themselves in the Laithwaite’s 50th Anniversary Van, celebrating the journey which kicked off the UK’s No.1 home delivery wine-merchant.

To commemorate the launch of the Wine Awards, TV’s ‘Mr Wine’ and author of ‘World of Wine’, Oz Clarke will be on hand to guide visitors around all the medal-winning wines on his ‘Trophy Trail’. The ultimate walking tour for wine lovers will depart on the hour, every hour; wonderful wine guaranteed.

Visitors can upgrade tickets giving them VIP access to the Fine Wine Room, where wine lovers will be able to taste wines from world renowned vineyards, whilst enjoying a fantastic bird’s-eye view of the entire festival.

The anniversary event will be hosted by the award-winning wine writer and Sunday Times Wine Club President, Hugh Johnson OBE alongside Tony Laithwaite, Oz Clarke and the Club’s VP and Time’s columnist, Will Lyons.

With over 300 wines and artisanal food from local suppliers, the anniversary event is not to be missed. Sip, enjoy and discover.
