A masterclass with Eva Jiiná, a world-renowned architect whose far-reaching work transcends physical as well as symbolic boundaries, who will talk about her work, inspiration and the role of intuition in her creative process.

Combining a sharp conceptual approach with meticulous attention to detail and driven by her love of light and lightness, Eva’s work weaves her cherished materials of glass and metal into elegant yet functional designs that redefine the limits of architecture’s technical potential. She became well known for the interiors of shops, residential projects and glass staircases but also for her work at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Canada Water Bus Station, the Leicester Library, the Orangery at Prague Castle and many other projects.

Eva Ji?i?ná is a Czech born architect based in London since 1968. She worked on the Brighton Marina project and on the Lloyd’s Building before establishing her own practice in 1982. Following the fall of the communist regime Eva established her Czech architectural practice AI DESIGN in Prague in 1999. She has been named Ambassador of the Czech Republic by the Czech Top 100 and awarded the CBE and a Lifetime Achievement Medal by the London Design Festival.

The masterclass is part of the London Festival of Architecture and Eva Jiiná's ongoing retrospective exhibition at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague, Czech Republic.
