Following resounding success in its inaugural year, The London Saxophone Festival returns in May and June 2019, with an awe-inspiring lineup of some of the world’s best saxophonists, performing at a wide range of venues throughout the capital. Highlights of this year’s festival include ‘Soul Women Unite’ - a collaborative concert with top female artists featuring Terri Walker, YolanDa Brown, Ayanna Witter Johnson, Judi Jackson and Carleen Anderson at Chelsea’s Cadogan Hall.

Other performances include the highly sought after and legendary Yellowjackets, American fusion kings Kneebody, experimental mavericks Collocutor and Tomorrow’s Warriors graduate Denys Baptiste at Camden’s Jazz Café, plus a masterfully curated series of exceptional saxophonists performing at the Pizza Express Jazz venues, including Elan Trotman, Marici Saxes, Mike Aremu and Xhosa Cole. A free stage will also be set up at prestigious City Of London club The Ned on 1st June, featuring top quality live music from 1pm all the way through to midnight.

The festival will also see the return of the free Sax Village and family day, open to the public on the Sat 8th June between 11am and 8.30pm in the foyer of the beautiful Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square. Newcomers will be able to assemble and play the saxophone for the first time and be shown techniques, while experienced players will be able to converse and consult with leading musicians and industry figures. The day will feature a wide range of events, as well as offering saxophones to hire or to purchase at special sax fest rates.

The London Saxophone Festival will take place at some of London’s most famous concert halls and music venues, with headline shows, with a diverse series of concerts designed to appeal to all tastes and ages and events taking place at Chelsea’s distinguished Cadogan Hall, Islington’s ethereal Union Chapel, Camden Town’s infamous Jazz Café, Pizza Express Jazz Clubs in Holborn and Soho and more exciting locations London-wide.
