A new series of 30 free pop-up cookery classes for Londoners who want to up-skill in the kitchen is launching this July at venues across the capital. Run by the Small Change, Big Difference campaign, the classes are aimed at reducing the estimated 910,000 tonnes of food that goes to waste from Londoners’ homes every year, and will inspire participants with delicious, quick and easy recipes to make the most of those items loitering in fridges and store cupboards.
The first workshops kick off with a weekly ‘Waste-FREE Lunch’ every Thursday lunchtime during July at Mercato Metropolitano. A short walk from Borough tube station, the market has a focus on sustainable and ethical consumption, and attendees will learn how to make a healthy, sustainable packed lunch and then eat the results – all in a quick lunchtime session.
July’s classes will also run on Wednesday evenings at venues in Brixton, Stoke Newington, Battersea and Oxford Circus.
Every Wednesday (18:30-21:00) and Every Thursday (12:45-13:40)
