The Store of Modern Childhood

The Store of Modern Childhood is a hard-hitting installation that has been commissioned by The Children’s Society, a national charity that works with the country's most vulnerable children and young people in England and Wales.

Its shelves are home to an array of unsettling products that represent the challenges young people face on a daily basis including poverty, knife crime, bullying, and sexual exploitation.

The Children’s Society’s ambition is to highlight the very real issues affecting young people today in an emotive and motivating way and to mobilise action around the findings in the Good Childhood Report 2019. Although hard-hitting and thought-provoking we hope that through shining a light on this harsh reality, we will help to raise awareness and drive change across the UK.
