Emergence, On Communities and Homelessness is a screening and panel discussion exploring the relationship between austerity, mental health and homelessness in the UK today, revealing the personal narratives at the heart of this continuous cycle.

The event will include a screening of ‘Patricia’, a film that explores how nobody can recover from difficult circumstances alone.

The event will draw together different voices addressing the need for a reflexive way of working, collective care and collaborative action.

Taking the festival’s theme of emergence as a starting point, the film will highlight the different elements that make up a community.

Speakers to be confirmed.

This event is part of EMERGENCE, an exhibition and events programme presented by the Design School at London College of Communication, UAL exploring the role of design in working towards goals of sustainable production and consumption, biodiversity, inclusiveness, social cohesion and environmental sustainability.
